Facilities

The Lodge.  4 en-suite shower, toilet and wash facility rooms each with 8 beds to accommodate up to 32 people. Mattresses are provided, but individuals will need to bring their own bedding/sleeping bag and pillow. The rooms are also temperature controlled for the cooler nights if required. With 4 separate self contained rooms this gives great flexibility for mixed gender groups to have their own same sex privacy.

The Marquee. With a 12m x 6m area and hard standing concrete base covered over with artificial grass this space is a great asset to the center. No more sinking chair or table legs or churned up muddy floor and very easy to keep clean. This under cover space can be made use of in a multitude of ways. Main meetings, dinning, games room are just a few ways this area can be taken advantage of. Rain or shine with the versatility of sides being taken down you can always find a great practical use for the Marquee.

The Chapel. The main Chapel building we use now was built in 1841. But there has been a place of worship on the same site since 1745. There is a family friendly morning service every Sunday at 10:30am which will be attended by any group using the center over a weekend. All groups will also have use of the main hall for their camp or conference to hold meetings, studies, lectures and seminars during their stay, bearing in mind the Sunday morning services which are run by Barton Chapel leaders and members.

Shower & Toilet Block. They are exactly what they say they are. Situated by the side of the dinning room and kitchen there is access from the dinning room and also from the field. Used as the main facilities for the Chapel there is wheelchair access with a wheelchair friendly shower and toilet room. With the lodge having its own en-suite facilities this block is mainly used for those larger groups that take advantage of the extra camping area.

Woodland Areas

Slide3.jpeg

Woodland areas. We are extremely blessed to have this woodland area that has been worked on over many years to clear and make paths and clearings through it. A quite stroll along the paths or an activity in one of the clearings, these woods are very versatile. Children going to play and explore or groups learning how to light a fire in a controlled supervised bushcraft lesson. There is plenty for the imagination to get excited about.

Camping area. 32 beds not enough? Expand the sleeping arrangements onto the designated camping area. With 5 double electric hook up points there is plenty of room to pitch up and hook up. Or not hook up at all for real campers. The shower & Toilet block is then accessed from just behind the Lodge with no need to go around to the front of the building. Outdoor lighting is available when groups are camping.
